Celebrating Greater Gainesville's
Cultural Richness
GGIC serves as a connection point for Greater Gainesville's rich cultural diversity. GNV is an international city with hundreds of different cultures, traditions and lived experiences. More than 15% of our neighbors were not born in the United States. People who have immigrated to call our area home make up 25% of our population growth, bringing with them amazing additions to our cultural tapestry. GGIC will help to elevate and celebrate these voices and traditions by:
Hosting events such as themed festivals and mixers
Food festivals and learning events
Film festivals
Music and dance

Celebrating artists, both well-established and unknown
Connecting people and organizations with one another by breaking down cultural barriers
Working with local governments and businesses to highlight the cultural contributions of our international neighbors

Commemorating important historical events with local groups
Lecture series from leading experts and authors
Exchanges with delegations from other countries (in-person and virtual) such as with Sister Cities and Open World

GGIC would love to work with you or your organization to help plan a meaningful celebration of your culture and history. Please contact us using the form below to share your ideas and arrange a meeting!
